Baumgartner Schimmelbauer

Description

The name "Schimmelbauer" is our so-called vulgoname and comes from the fact that there used to be several families in Guntramsdorf with the name Baumgartner. Each family usually had its own nickname. Ours comes from the fact that our grandparents and great-grandparents had white horses, i.e. white horses. That's why we still like to be called "Schimmelbauer" today.

We cultivate around 4 hectares of family-owned vineyards in the Wine Road Thermenregion, mainly in the municipalities of Guntramsdorf and Gumpoldskirchen. We cultivate 2.5 hectares in the Neusiedlersee Hügelland wine-growing region in St. Margarethen in Burgenland.

The varieties Rotgipfler, Neuburger, Weißburgunder, Rheinriesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc and Portugieser grow in the Thermenregion. Grüne Veltliner, Welschriesling and the two red wine varieties Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt thrive in St. Margarethen. In order to meet the tastes of our discerning guests, our wines are of course available in a wide range of different stages of development.

Our wines are marketed in Buschenschank (typical tavern) and street sales, and small quantities are also sold in restaurants.
