Description

The Schwertführer 35 winery is run by Johann Schwertführer, now in the 6th generation.

The Soosser Stammhaus has existed since 1898 and today it is one of the leading wineries in the wine village.

The vineyards are divided between Baden and Sooss, with the Harterberg and Hammerschossen (Baden), Waasn and in Schön (Sooss) vineyards being established names.

"We now have as much white wine as red wine," says winegrower Johann.

They are certainly famous for their Waasn. Zweigelt on shell limestone soil with the influence of the forest, this is what makes the wine so special.

Not to forget the white wines of the region!

Rotgipfler - the famous wine of the Thermenregion and Chardonnay - which grows and thrives on the limestone-rich soils from light to strong.

Kerstin and Sigrid Schwertführer, the two young winegrowers, joined the business in 2014.

In a family business, everyone helps out, but everyone has their own favorite spot, whether it's the vineyard, cellar or office.

The Schwertführer's open their wine tavern at the weekends.

The focus is on the wine, with a cold buffet rounding off the wide-ranging wine tasting.
