Burg Neuhaus / Standesamt Pottenstein im Triestingtal
Description
Tying the knot between ancient walls - that's what Neuhaus Castle (Neuhaus an der Triesting) offers
Whether a church wedding in the Roman Catholic parish church, which has been lovingly restored, or a civil wedding in the open air in the rose garden - the ambience of the castle guarantees an unforgettable day. The team at Neuhaus Castle does its utmost to look after its guests. In case of bad weather, the parish hall with its vaulted ceilings and 1.5 meter thick walls is available. The Neuhaus parish church is part of the castle complex (1251) and was built between 1610 and 1612 as the Protestant Church of the Redeemer by Hans Christoph Wolzogen with a family crypt. It was destroyed during the Turkish siege in 1683 and later served as a storage room for the mirror factory set up in the castle. In 1733, the castle church became a Catholic parish church and was given a Baroque interior. In 1945, the parish church was badly damaged during the war.
The last renovation took place from 2004 to 2006. Under the motto: "God is the light", the parish church was designed to be bright and friendly. It offers space for around 100 people, has a restored organ and is dedicated to St. John Nepomuk.
