Castle, castle park - Wasserspielplatz Bad Vöslau
Description
Bad Vöslau Castle Park covers an area of 6 hectares. It was designed along the lines of English landscape gardens and, together with Bad Vöslau Castle, forms the heart of the town. In the middle of the park is an imposing 200-year-old plane tree that has provided shade for many generations. There are around 400 trees in the castle park - including over 45 tree species. Special trees along the footpaths in the park invite visitors to discover them and are marked with tree labels in German and English. In addition to the trees, it is above all the baroque and contemporary sculptures that make up the charm of the palace park.
The water playground was built as part of the 2010 garden show and is now the highlight for young explorers in summer. The interactive Selfie Point is also worth a detour: here, visitors can find out interesting facts about the park and its history at the touch of a button. Bad Vöslau Castle has been part of the spa town's history since 1136. Since March 1971, the castle has officially been the town hall of the municipality of Bad Vöslau. It also houses the tourist information office.
