Forest nature trail "Berndorf-Guglzipf"

Description

The local mountain Guglzipf not only belongs to Berndorf, it is a part of this town.

Many leisurely hiking trails as well as a nature trail lead directly to the managed mountain hut at 473 m above sea level with a jubilee lodge, natural bowling alley, large playing field and children's playground.

The NATURE TRAIL leads from the town center over 3.6 km via the "Mühlsteig" up to the Guglzipf and back again via the "Sängersteig". Along the way you will find orientation boards, colorful panels on the topics of forests, local plants, nature conservation and local history as well as labeled trees and shrubs. The nature trail and the facilities on the Guglzipf are ideal for nature education projects.

The Guglzipf is a limestone-dolomite mountain with black pine on the dry side and beech forest on the wetter northern side. A wide variety of species can therefore be found in a small area.

The nature trail is accessible at all times and the hut can be reached comfortably in about 40 minutes.
